TIPS FOR SEARCHING THE INTERNET!!!
The word netiquette comes from the words network and etiquette. So, netiquette refers to how you conduct yourself while on the Internet.
1. When at home, never go on the Internet without the permission of an adult. If at school, do not go on the Internet without prior permission from a teacher or principal. If possible, the adult/teacher should be present.
2. Only go to areas on the internet that a teacher or parent recommends.
3. Tell a teacher or parent when you come across inappropriate information. If you are unsure if the material is inappropriate, then you probably shouldn't be looking at it!
4. Do not share passwords with friends or give them to anyone online.
5. Always check with a teacher or parent before you download any information or install any programs.
6. Be respectful in your email. Remember, after you send an email you can't get it back!
7. Only communicate with people who you know and who maybe online!
8. Never agree to meet anyone via the Internet.
9. Never give out any personal information. This includes: home address, telephone numbers, full name, computer usage location, and so on.
10. Use the correct spelling when using search engines.
